About Us

A large American flag displayed from a fire truck ladder.

At 600 Washington Street, the Toms River Elks Lodge 1875 has been doing the work that matters since before Ocean County was fully mapped. This isn't a club where members pay dues and disappear. On any given weekend you might find a car show rolling through the parking lot, a barbecue feeding a crowd of veterans and their families, or a bagpipe and drum corps marking something that deserves to be marked with that kind of ceremony.

The Lodge has earned a 4.5-star rating across hundreds of reviews precisely because what happens here is real. A grandmother books the hall for her grandson's party and leaves raving about the staff. A visitor comes for a homeless veterans benefit and walks away moved. That range, from joyful to solemn and back again, is exactly what a lodge like this is built to hold.

Chartered members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Toms River Lodge operates under one of America's oldest fraternal traditions, but the work it does is entirely local. Scholarships go to Ocean County students. Donations stay in the community. The people running the events live here too.

What We Offer

The Lodge at Washington Street opens its doors for a wide range of events and programs. Private parties and banquets can be booked for milestones big and small, with experienced staff like Kathy on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly. The hall is well-suited for birthday celebrations, anniversary dinners, memorial gatherings, and fundraisers.

Beyond private bookings, the Lodge hosts regular public events including car shows, veterans benefits, live music nights, and seasonal community gatherings. The kitchen turns out solid barbecue for large crowds, and the bar keeps members and guests comfortable throughout. Community service programs run year-round, with a particular focus on veterans support, youth scholarships, and local charitable giving through the national Elks network and its own Lodge-level initiatives.

"Everyone is very Friendly. They do A LOT of events! Very active in the community. They have a beautiful new bar area. A huge room to run events and host BINGO every Wednesday. Very large parking lot. I like that members need a key to enter the lodge when no events are scheduled."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
